Concept

weather temperature that informs you what to wear in the morning could be communicated through anthropomorphic hardware in a delightful way.

We observed that todays assistants lack anthropomorphic qualities and clear expression of their functions. In response to this we wanted to explore how anthropomorphic hardware and physical function display could be a possible way of increasing the expression of assistants.

The trio is meant to neatly live next to a window at home. While getting dressed in the morning the robots communicate to the user the outside temperature through bodily movement. The wired robot communicates to the user heat, the clay robot reacts to temperate weather and the plexiglass robot shakes when it's freezing outside.

Project Soma is a study of alternative hardware for assistive data communication.
